ANDERSON ROCIO & SOLO MIO
Anderson Rocio is a recording artist who found universal recognition during covid when her song “Paradise” was synced to the Netflix show Lucifer. This led to her being the opening act for renowned New Zealand opera trio Solo Mio. They had a National tour during 2021 whilst the world was mostly locked down due to the Corona Virus. New Zealand was practically virus-free due to strict rules regarding entry and exit into the country allowing musical shows to continue. The National tour included 7 cities ending in Auckland with a performance for an audience of over 7000 people including a 40 piece choir and 70 piece orchestra. She is also the younger sister of Joshua Ryan and was a frequent collaborator with the group SAYSH that Josh and his writing partner, composer Evan Duffy, created in 2018. During Rocio’s tour Josh arranged a full size orchestral arrangement of one of Solo Mio’s original songs “Homeland”. Employing the use of a large choir and full orchestra and Anderosn Rocio, the song also featured the vocals of the critically acclaimed world-class opera singer brothers Pene Patai and Amitai Pati and singing star Moses Mackay.
“Combining the worlds of classical and traditional music with modern and alternative genres has been a fantastic way to explore new and exciting ways of writing. The collaboration between my sister and I has led to many instances where we write together and combine our worlds, especially in relation to trailer music and sync music”. Josh and Anderson have worked together on several projects now under the artist name SAYSH which Josh and Evan Duffy created as a way to produce epic trailer music together. Anderson features regular in their music as the prime vocalist and lyricist.
